Hi,

How can I clear Windows XP cached password. I try to ftp to some other machines and the ftp failed because of the cached password of Windows XP caused the problem.

Thanks,

You can clear from My Network Places any persistent FTP site connections.

Could you be clearer about the error message from FTP, and what FTP client you are using?

You can:

. clear entries through IE, Tools, Internet Options, Content, AutoComplete, Clear Passwords

. Look to at: Start, Run, control userpasswords2, Advanced, and look at the password editing features in the top box shown.

I tried to map a drive to an ftp site. Clicking on Tools -Map Network Drive and entered ftp://ftpsite. Unchecked the Anonymous login. It supposed to prompt me for a login box, instead it popped up the usual internet explorer error page.

Use IE and ftp:\\ftp.site.ip.info

You can only use the mapping tool for Netbios resolved Windows named shares.
