I changed the ssh default port from 22 to one in the range > 50,000 by changing the entry in the /etc/ssh/sshd_conf and /etc/ssh/ssh_conf on both client and server machines but it doesn't seem to work, I also changed the port for ssh in /etc/services, restarted the sshd, also rebooted, but still cann't get it to work, any help will be much appreciated, I am running RH9.

Are you shure that you dont have any firewall enabled on those box?
