Hello, I have a Meridian Option 11 and i'm trying to change names of users in the extensions but there are some DN's that allows only 13 char string lenght while on others they acn be up to 17 (as far as i have seen)
is it possible to change the lenght limit of the string?

I think that is a global setting, are they diff set types?

are you changing (CHG) a name as opposed to doing a new name (NEW)?

i have seen where if you change the name and dont out it before hand, it will only let you enter in the amount of letters the previous name had.

True there - also use comma first, last when programming

According to your CPND post, you can have names up to 24 characters. (MXLN prompt) I agree with Klowndog, don't change names, OUT them and then NEW them. You can also change the MXLN value from 24 to 27 if desired.

Thank you all! it was very helpful...

I'll post a few questions on basic administraton of the system if you don't mind...

Cheers!

As GHTrout's document shows... If you put a comma between the first and last name on a change, you should not have any issues with the previous entry's length.
