Is there a way to create a favorite/bookmark to an application instead to a web address?

Thanks in advance guys :)

I'm not sure I understand? Where exactly are you wanting to create this? Inside Internet Explorer?

Then no.

Usually you create 'shortcuts' to applications either on the desktop or inside the Start Menu.

If you wanted to create a shortcut to an app you use frequently on the desktop, you could right click on the desktop and select NEW -> Shortcut, and follow the wizard.

Sorry I wasn't more explicit.
I meant in a browser, to a regular installed .EXE file. I thought I had seen this done before.

Well, you can use this VBscript to add an app icon to IE's toolbar, but I don't think it will work with any other browser.

You can create a bookmark that you don't need.
Rename it to what you want.
Organize or manage your bookmarks\favorites and go to the properties of your bookmark.
Rename the target file:///C:/(Path to file)/(file name)

I tested this in Internet Explorer and it works.

In my experience that will make the browser ask you if you want to download the application or run it every time, creating a copy of the executable in the temp files folder.

Not sure how desirable that would be.
