How to block MSN

How can I block MSN in Windows XP, or could I block it from the router.

If you are using IE6 or later you can restrict sites from incoming access.

If your router can block IP address's then stopping these should stop MSN

No it doesnt stop after inputting these IPs
 
as an administrator - do this:

Start, run.....

GPEDIT.MSC

You can go under computer configuration, administrative templates, windows messenger, and shut it off there.

Yes I have disable both user & computer configuration and logged in again but its still going. Thanks
 
Why not just uninstall it?
 
Are you talking about Windows Messenger or MSN messenger?

Both are very difficult to stop as they use a selection of ports and can use port 80 as well. The best way is to uninstall it as stduc says of use a third party app like App Killer (It's free).
