I have an ASA 5505 that is working great. I also have a brand new one sitting in the box.

The working ASA was config'd by a CISCO guru who knows his stuff... Unfortunately, he comes with a hefty price.

Does anyone know of the best way to copy/backup and restore to the spare so I can have a hot swap in case of any issues (and get it done BEFORE the issues arise))?

THANKS in advance!

I have verified this works in ASDM version 5.0 as well as 6.0.

You will need a TFTP Server installed on your workstation. I suggest Tftpd32.

Next, log into your ASDM and

Click on File

Select Save Running Configuration to TFTP Server and follow the prompts.

Good Luck.

*<|:) THANK YOU ALL!!! [2thumbsup]

I'll put together a FAQ on this and post the step by step instructions for those individuals like me!!

Worked well. Two Perfectly Matched ASA 5505's.

This was important why??? That way - anyone in the remote office - with little or NO technical knowledge - can swap them out in the event of a major issue!!

Thanks again!
