Hi there!

I have an IPO V2 running with one of those UC Modules that had bad firmware or fell under the document saying that this particular revision should be replaced. It has been running pretty stable for the last 2 years or more, but on occasion acted up once in a while. I personally think let sleeping dogs lie, but the customer wants it replaced. He says it has to do with security concerns/updates for VISA compatability? I don't see it. Anyways, do I just go into VMail Pro Client and do a back-up .mdb file, and then after verifying the version on the other module to be the same as the IPO 8.0 or 8.1 just do a restore through VMail Pro Client or is it a more complicated procedure?

Thanks!

Do a full backup in VMPro client settings. Login to the UCM with WinSCP and get the backup under /opt/vmpro/Backup/Scheduled/Immediate

Backup 1XP under
Restore the 1XP backup the same way you did the backup. Upload VMPro backup to /opt/vmpro/Backup/Other Backups and restore it from WebControl settings section.

For security copy the full folder /opt/vmpro

Do I have to check for version settings on the replacement UCM module? Is it shown externally or internally?

Thanks

It is shown in the admin webpage but I Always use the ISO to put the UCM on the correct version because if you have one on R8 and you need R9 then you must use the ISO anyway. Dissapointing thing is that it takes freaking long to upgrade and during upgrade it looks like nothing is happening until it suddenly reboots and start working.
Avaya could have done that better, not using a ISO but a image of the SSD harddrive and just copy a fresh image on it, it takes about ten minutes instead of four to five hours, they are insane.
BTW I never backup One-X portal, it is a lot quicker just to reconfigure it and have a fresh start, VM Pro backup is OK, works fine.
