How to automatically enable XP Quick Launch Toolb 1

Hi all,
I am working on a standard build. By default the quick launch tool bar is disabled. I can manually enable it but i would like to do so automatically...any ideas.
I have looked for registry keys etc but cant find anything.

I have no idea what the command for a QuickLaunch bar is, but if you

it and fine the executable for it, then it is just a case of adding a ling in the Registry at HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Run/

If I understand your question correctly, you can automatically have the "quick launch" tab show up on the task bar by right clicking on the start button and left click on properties. A screen will pop up showing 2 tabs. Click on the task bar tab. About half way down you will see "Show Quick Launch". Check the box and click OK all the way out. It should now appear all the time automatically.

hello all, yes i can do it manually myself by clicking on the buttons etc. i am have 7000 machines to roll XP out to. for this reason i do not want the user to have to do this. as part of the standard desktop i have been asked to include the quick launch bar as being active. whats frustrating me is i cant find anything, reg entries , ini files that change, exe to run etc etc that will make it show without having to manually select it!!

You're not using cloning to roll out your PCs?

Roaming profiles?

One approach you could take, is to create a standard Default User profile - with quicklaunch enabled (and any other settings you want as default) on one machine and copy it to the rest. Then all users logging on (unless roaming profiles, created elsewhere) will get this desktop.

no cloning. we dont like anything to do with snap shots, imaging. we build from ground up with unattended.txt installation, though we will be moving to sysdiff pretty soon. after that we install software in an unattended fashion based on a vb dos util prior to OS install. all software is installed without user intervention, including all user specific settings etc.
