There is only one 'admin' login, using the maintenance level password and only one user can log on at any time. Do not lose this password or else your Octel 200 will become an expensive coffee table...........
There is a MAC record kept, but only level 9 Avaya engineers can see this.
To initiate a password for logon to the OCTEL 200/300:
@PASS M xxxxxx - MAINT - Maintenance - highest level.
@PASS A yyyyyy - ADMIN - medium level.
@PASS R zzzzzz - REPORT - printing / report level.
I guess I am using a maintenance level password - I can do the @ps command.
jon, you said: "There is only one 'admin' login, using the maintenance level password".
Can I create three ADMIN level passwords for the other system administrators AND keep my MAINT password for me? In other words, can we use four different passwords on the same system (not at the same time of course)?
You can always change a log-in account (i.e. password) lower than the account you are logged into, and of course your own account.
So, the MAINT account can change both the MAINT, the ADMIN and the REPORT account.
And the ADMIN account can change both the ADMIN and the REPORT account.
But the REPORT account can only change the REPORT account.
In other words - a lower account cannot change a higher accounts password.
