HI,

I have a 30 page book typed into CS2 and I now want to add 4 pages of photos to the middle which would be pages 15,16,17,18.

How do I do this without losing any of my text.

Thank you.

...worth noting that for commercial printing it is often required publications need to be in multiples of 4 pages depending on binding involved, so 32 or 36 pages (including cover) would be a multiple of four. If you have 34 you will likely need 2 blank pages somewhere (inside front cover and inside back cover perhaps or last two or front two pages?)...

...how are you trying to add those four pages at the moment?

...is it in spread set up or a single page setup?

Like Andrew said. You need to keep in multiples of 4 for book publications. Even if you have to add in blanks.

You want to add pages of photos into the middle of a 32 page book that are colour.

So you are looking at a 16 page section, plus a 4 page section, plus a 8 page section plus another 4 page section. (16 + 4 + 8 + 4 = 32)

You're first 16 will bring you up to half way through the book and onto a left hand page. That's exactly what you want, because 16 is half of 32. Then, facing the left hand page is the right hand page, page 17, where the photos begin. You will have 4 pages of photos then.

Then 17, 18, 19 and 20 are the middle 4 pages. And the rest will work out by itself.

So your text restarts from page 21 - 32, which is 12 pages exactly.

The last section of 8 + 4 may well be printed as a twelve page section or a 16 page section and waste the paper, but that's not really any concern of yours.

Good luck with the book!

Thank you so much guys.

I have been told to send the book in two parts.

One is the 4 page cover with the outside colour and the inside black.

AT the moment, the next is the main text part of 30 black pages. I have set it up as a document which starts with one page at the top and then in pairs until 30.

But I now see what you mean about it being in 4's and that I should have 32 all up in the text part, not 30.

Now is it correct that I would insert my black pix at

15, 16, 17 and 18 then text again at 19 ?

I appreciate the help.

If the body is 32 pages, then put the images on 17,18,19,20

If the body is 28 pages, then put the images on 15,16,17,18
