I'm stumped, I'm trying to add an extension. I'm in "Extensions" in the Manager and i've right clicked for "new" how do I tell it what port to connect it to?

You should already see all of the ports if you are dealing with an analog or digital station port. Adding a new port would only be a IP endpoint.

Ok, what I need to do then is edit the extension. I had a user using an anolog phone, we just got in another digital avaya 6408 phone so I'd like to add him back to the digital world. When I right click to "edit" i'm not allowed to change anything bu the extension number. I need to change the module and Port

Users are changed in the User tab. You then link a users extension to a physical port in the extensions tab.

Correct!

What you need to do is select the analogue port that has the extension you wish to move (Example 123) and change the extension number to something that is not used (say 666) then select the digital port that you wish to use for the user, edit the extension number associated with this and make it extn 123. Change the old analogue extn (666) to something with your numbering range (I generally use the digital extension I have just editted) You will need save and reboot the system for the changes to be effective

The Analogue and digital ports are physical interfaces to the system, so the only way that you can add them is by added a further expansion unit. Obviously IP extensions are different!

Take Care
