Is it possible to add additional form headers and footers when working in a FORM. I know how to do it in a report by using the "sorting and grouping" option. How come that option is not available in the Form mode?

If anyone knows please help. Thanks.

Data can be sorted in a form by setting the Order By property in the form's property sheet.

Exactly what are you trying to achieve by having a second separate set of form headers?

What I'm trying to do is to make a list under a certain heading.
Let's say I have two different departments: Shipping and Receiving
Each department has a certain number of items

What I want to do is to list those items under the right department in the form. Ex:

Shipping Department
boxes
paper
tape

Receiving Department
rope
light
scissors

And the list goes on. I believe the only way to do this is by being able to add more headers. I would put the 'department' under a newly created header, and the 'items' under the Detail header. I cannot put the department under the same Detail header because it would not look nice. The department name would be constantly repeated. Also, I cannot put the department in the Form header because then I could not add a Title to the form as it would be repeated as well.

I hope you kind of understand what I mean. I do appreciate your help.

Thanks

Have you considered a Form/Subform set-up for your form?

On your Main form, set up the Department field, based on your main table

Create a second table for the Items, with a foreign key to identify whether they belong to Shipping or Receiving. Add a subform control to the main form using the wizard. This will guide you through the whole process. You can then set the foreign key field to Visible = No to hide this field, so there is no repetitious data displayed.

Check out the Subforms: What they are and how they work topic in the Access Help file for more info/detail on subforms.
