Hi all;

We are hosting a website using MS II5, front end, Coldfusion and SQL server 2000 as a back end. At the moment the website can be accessed from outside by typing in the IP address. But most recently the company applied for a DNS and got a URL that we can use instead of the IP address. What do I have to do to add the url name so people can access the site by typing in the URL (eg. instead of the IP address (eg.
Thanks

No, I don't control the DNS server. The company that I work submitted the IP address that we are currently using for our website to a DoD that assigns DNS names. I'm assuming that we need to add the proper URL, (eg. somewhere in the IIS configuration so the site knows what name to use and respond when people type in the name instead of the IP address.
