I need to install Win2000 on this machine but it wont start installing from the CD..
I've tried various F keys and key combos but I cant get into it..
It had ME on it and would boot to the HDD or a floppy.. I guess it needs the CD as first device..hence my problem..
Any clues??

Failing anyone else coming up with the correct key combination, you could try temporarily disconnecting the hard drive. This might provoke it into inviting you to entering the BIOS as the hardware line-up has now altered! At this point you will hopefully get a clue as to what to key in next time to legitimately get in...

Every model of Netvista I've worked on used the F1 key as the BIOS entry key. Hit that key early and often during boot.

Freestone has it, Fi is the key, hit it often right off the bat, and you will get into your bios. The boot options are right there, i believe, on the top, 3rd over, use arrow key to get to boot options and press enter, if i recall correctly.

And i believe you will find you have the phoenix bios as well. I have one such former IBM netvista mobo in a machine i built. The mobo is kind of a dark blu-ish color.

F1 is the key on a cold boot. Requires a power down to get to the cold boot.

Thanks to you all...
Long Holiday Weekend down here... will check it out on Tuesday... and yes, it is that bluey coloured mid-tower with the top door..
I think that mention of cold boot IS critical... I dont think I really did that.. also the disconnect HD sounds another good idea..

I'll try it out..

Thanks
