How the HECK do I import a license file into SMS - Please HELP !

I have been pulling my hair out for three days on this - I have a software licence MIF file that I want to import into the software metering component of SMS 2.0 (SP3). I have scowered the internet and cannot find any microsoft documents on where to put the MIF file. Can anyone help ? Also, does anyone know a good place to download other MIF files for other products, especially Microsoft ??

The MS SMS 2.0 Administrator's Companion has a section on this, pages 388-392.

Essentially you place the mif in %windir%\ms\sms\noidmifs if the file is associated with a single client and is meant to add to an existing class. The mif would go in ...\idmifs if the file is not associated with a client.
