How ot safely blank out the 'AUDIX' field on all stations? 1

I'm looking for the correct process in Avaya Site Administration to make the AUDIX field blank for about 1,000 stations. We don't use AUDIX anymore and in order to be able to remove all the AUDIX associated programming, I need to remove AUDIX from the 'AUDIX name' field on page 2 of every station that currently has AUDIX listed in that field. I know how to use Avaya Site Admin to bulk change phones with a template, but I don't see a way to ONLY change that one field to be blank for all these phones. If I mess it up and wipe out everyone's buttons, that will be a nightmare ;-) There are lots of different variations of button programming and I want to be sure I don't remove or change ANY of the other fields or buttons. I ONLY want to clear out that AUDIX name field. Anyone know the exact way to do that? I'll try a small scale test before I do the large group once I have an idea of how to do it.

When you use the ASA import feature, only the fields that have an entry will change. So if you leave a field blank it won't change anything.

To clear a field you have to enter a double quote "".

So in your case, you want to list all the extensions in the extension field, then put a "" in the field you want to clear. Leave all the other fields blank, with no entry.

Ok, I've removed 'AUDIX' from all the stations, but it's still entered somewhere because when I try to remove AUDIX from the node-name AUDIX, it tells me "Remove name from forms containing AUDIX Names first". Any idea where else it might be showing up so I can remove it there also?

VDNs have Audix name field.

Also possibly a node-name?

Ah....yes, I'm seeing some VDNs with AUDIX listed....so I'll dig through those now.

OK, that was it....it was in some of the VDNs. Now I've been able to remove AUDIX from 'Change node-names AUDIX"
I think that's the last remnants of it.
