What is the total number I can add?

You can add as many as you like, but only 3 will work as that's all that's supported, I know this as I read the docs :)

Aux. power source.

Or can it be powered from the POE Switch.

Sorry SAP is a term used in Nortel land for station aux power for the BLF mods. My question is can all 3 work from the power from a POE switch or do I need a Power brick at the phone.

What is in the docs, I can't remember ( sarcastic enough? )

Nevertheless, if your PoE switch can deliver enough power then you don't need a extra power injector.

One will work on POE but if you need more then it will need more power.
But officially you need a power brick with one or more button modules.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

For a DS type of phone you always need a external PoE injector but for IP Phones a PoE switch will do.
I have installed enough of them to be sure.

Also when all three are programmed full with buttons?
I think it will draw too much power for some POE switches.
But if you have high power POE ports then it could work fine.
I always try with POE first and i had no one fail so i share your thoughts.
I just wanted to remind the topic starter that a power brick should be used if you want to be supported.
You and i both know what Avaya will tell him when there are problems :)

We only use proper PoE switches like HP or hum.. Cisco without any problem.

if you use switches that support PoE+ then you should have no issue.
That is enough to power small motors to adjust cameras and should be plenty to light up a few LED's on a phone.
It also depends if your cable is good because if you have a bad connection on the power pair then you will lose more than you send through.
