I am using VFP 8.0
I am developing a client- server applicaction.
MSDE is the backend.
I have about 20 tables to upsize to SQL. I've hacked at it until all but one table transfers. This Patient_Info file fails to transfer records due to an error. If I upsize only the Patient_Info file, the wizard transfers all of the records of this last table OK. So my question is:
How important is a "clean upsizing" with no errors. Or is it reasonable to expect a few snags where you have to figure out a work around.

Jim,

What you are seeing is fairly typical of my own experiences with the upsizing wizard. There are also other reasons not to use it.

I would suggest you investigage the Data Trasnformation Services tool that come with SQL Server. This provides a robust general-purpose inport/export facility. I have used it in production systems, with much greater success than the upsizing wizard.

Mike.
