How i can configure a router (IOS 12.1 - Router Series 7200) to send snmp traps to ciscoworks2000 (DFM)? HELP ME!!!!!!!!! I'm from Brazil and i will lost my job...

Hi,

Your question was how to configure the router to send traps to a CW server. Assume that your server ip address is 192.168.1.100 and your SNMP read only string is readitN

Here is a sample config.

snmp-server comminity RO readitN
snmp-server community RW write2it
snmp-server host 192.168.1.100

This should work fine

My router have this configuration lines... but didnt work...
I need traps to inform about LINKDOWN and LINKUP (Serial Ports). My router have 4 Serial Ports and 1 Fast Port.

I believe you have to enable the port traps for the ports that you want to receive traps from:

set port trap 2/1-48,3/1-32 enable

Hi...

Does SNMP work at all for you?
Are you able to read the MIB using your SNMP RO string?

regards

amanda
