I have a CICS / CallPilot 100. I have installed this into a giagantic warehouse. Is there a limitation on how far I can run the cabling? I mean I have all their offices hooked up and everything is working fine about 150 Feet from the CICS but I have never really run wires past 150 Feet. I will have to do, well after all is said and done probably 800Feet. Is this possible?

Thank You in Advance

Is the wiring for phone sets? If you think about a CO switch, which works on the same physical limitations as any other phone system, wires are run much further than 800 feet for phones. I would think your distance would work just fine for either an analog or digital phone out of the CICS.

In ethernet environments, the spec is 100 meters, or 300 feet. I have seen 10MB connections work at over 400 feet without issue (I would not recommend it, but I have seen it work).

Others may have some exact details for you, and this could change depending on what you are running. Post more specifics if this does not answer your questions.

for VOICE 800ft is very possible. I have run phones upwards of 2000ft from the system. But don't promise DATA past 300ft. Use CAT5 cabling.

I had a multiple warehouse environment, or multiple shop bays really, and they all wanted a phone in their bay. Just ran cable through conduit from each of the buildings back to the office. All worked like a charm. This was a MICS 4.2 with M7310 phones.

The maximum loop limit on Meridian digital phones is 3500 ft. using 24 gauge twisted pair wire. I don't know if it's the same for Norstar phones.

i have 3904's working clean on almost 6000 ft of copper, 21 gauge.. to answer the original question..did you ever here of the trans-atlantic cable? a the phone company 10 miles is an everday task.. of course the wire is loaded ever 5000 ft, but no amps are need that close
