Greater band width equals less of a bottle neck in your system equals faster performance.

OK FSB is the speed at wich data gos from chipsets to chipsets to different objects. EX say you need to decrpyt something for example and send the decrypted msg to someone on the internet. You fast as heck cpu does the crunching and then sends it using the FSB which sends it to the NIC or modem which then slaps cuts it into packets smacks headers and frames onto it. I hope this has helped. P4 mobos have 400mhz FSB<--they nice but the ram/cpu costs to much and doesnt nearly do as good as a AMD ddr board.
