This may be a very easy question to answer, but bare with me, I'm a beginner with MS Word.

If I have a Word doc with a macro that I created and then I send this to someone else, when they open the Word doc the macro isn't there. How can I save the macro for someone else to use on their machine?

Is your macro tied to the Normal.dot template?
If so then the receiver may be opening the document with their Normal.dot template not yours.

Donald is correct. If you recorded the macro, when you do another one, in the dialog box "Record macro" there is a drop down "Store macro in". The default is Normal.dot". If you want to store it in the document you are working on, click the drop down, and store it in the document - which should be listed.

That's it!

Hi ReportSmithing,

If you save a macro in a document it should be there. If it's not there it is because you saved it somewhere else.

Enjoy,
Tony
