I can not find any documntation on how to reset a gateway in LSP mode. I have an S8700 on the main site and (11) S8300 remotely.I am getting so frustrated having to call avaya everytime. Does anyone have the process documented ? or some crib notes

thank you

hi,

you can also do the reset on the MGP CLI - "reset mgp

there are 7 gateways on one LSP site
two different sites have 2 GW's each

Im looking for the a written procedure. as every time we ask avaya we get a song and a dance that they need to perfom this procedure.

Search the documentation for the command: "reset media-gateway ..."

This is all you need in ACM 3.x

Petran.

There are three ip addresses in a G700 with 8300 LSP. You need to telnet to the 8300 using its address, not the MGP or stack address. You have to telnet to the port configured in your CM. Usually 5023, not the standard telnet port 23. Login with the login you use on the 8700 CM interface. The only command you will be able to use is the reset command unless you have purchased maintenance permissions. Enter Reset System 4.

Maybe an idea is to use a recovery rule For resetting the LSP automaticly when the network connection is stable again.
