How do you put Compaq Diagnostics back in after FDISK/FORMAT?

You have to install the disgnostic partition in front of the first bootable partition.
You reinstall by using the diagnostic disk, manage diagnostic partition , create partition. After you do this , you install the OS.
Possibly you could do this with partition magic by creating space for the first partition, but I've never tried it. Ed Fair
