i was wanting to overclock my P4 2.4 / 533 FSB Intel 850E pc and videocard. The video card is a snap but i can't find any guide to overcock the chipset safely. HELP!
Depending on the motherboard and RAM you have, you can increase the FSB of either or both to get more performance.
There isn't really any one difinitive guide to overclocking.
Plenty of threads to read if you do a search.
Start here maybe :thread602-516687 Cheers,

Dells are pains to OC, and when you OC a P4, you'd want to make certain that the fan/heatsink is the best out there. That's true for any OCing. I, personally, don't OC because it shortens the life of the processor, and I usually end up running computers into the ground. Just some thoughts.
Just to clarify, overclocking does NOT create that much more heat, and any stock hs/fan setup will work.
Increasing core voltage to get a stable overclock WILL increase heat dramatically. Cheers,
Jim
