How do you multiply 2 horizontal cells (g18 and h18) 1

Hi,

I never use excel, but I need to use it to do something very simple.

How do I multiply 2 horizontal cells (g18 and h18)?

I know how to add them using =SUM(G18:H18) so how do you multiply them?

That was easy, I was tyring =MULTIPLY(G18:H18) and some other variations but it just wasn't working.

Well, actually, you don't have to use the SUM if you're putting plus signs either.

Just:

=g18+h18

Now, if you want to sum a range of cells, use:

=SUM(g18:k18)

Where the colon means *through*.

In the cell that you want the answer type "=(firdt cell address)*9(second cell address)" wiuthout the quotes.
Example if you wanted to mulotiply the contents af cell A1 by the contents of celol A2 and have the answer in cell A3 you would type in cell A3 the following
=A1*A2
to divide just substitute a / for the *
