Is there a way to put a jump menu (drop down box) inside a jpg or gif without using Flash? Or is it possible at all? I have an interactive map (designed in Photoshop) - I want to include a box where people can enter their zip code. I can use a jump menu form outside the graphic - is it possible to float it over the graphic (in a layer?)? Thanks.

You cannot use a drop-down menu (jump menu) inside a JPG, GIF or even PNG. You can "float" one over the top of a JPG, GIF, PNG though... so you can achieve the same result.

When the time comes... you will need to place the drop-down menu inside a div, and position that div using CSS. Get coding and drop a note over on the HTML, XHTML & CSS forum when you're ready!

Cheers,
Jeff

Instead of floating the dropdown over the image, I usually just make a DIV with a background image and put the dropdown inside this DIV. Mind you - the DIV needs to be the same size as the image, then.

Good Luck

Thanks for the tips. Here is a page that will show what I'm trying to do:

Instead of having the zip code jump menu box where it is, the group I'm working with wants it at the bottom right corner of the graphic, under Area 4. I'll see if I can work on the html code to do that.
