need to find a null modem & cable to connect to
OPT 61 system. any ideas ? also there is a BT Base
box which was used for remote access, can I reuse
that and if so, how ?

you may not be able to use the seb, unless you have that password also.. but you can use the port.. radio shack will sell you a null modem, if you need one.. not every port needs those and some are switch set to dte or dce.. your pc/tty is dte so if the port is dte and you can not adjust that, then you need a null the tty port is usually 21 pin, your pc is usually db9.. radio shack sells null cables with that config.. under 10 usually.. normally ever cable you need plus spares are in the box when you buy one.. i have half a dozen on the truck... so if you know anyother switchmen in your area?

best bet is to look at both connections, make notes, pin number and male or female..

thanks for this info, however I am in the UK and
will need to find a source here.

Just about any good electronics store will sell you a Null-Modem adapter.

You can also buy a cable which is in Null configuration and has both DB9 and DB25 heads at each end.

Belkin makes them.

thanks for this info
