I would like to calculate deadlines in Excel w/o taking into accout the holidays. This is what I am doing now:
To calculate a 180-day deadline from today, go to cell A1 and type "3/1/6" or "3/1/2006" for example and press enter. Next, go to cell A2 and enter the formula "=A1+180" and press enter.

My head should have stopped hurting by now.

I suspect that he mean that the holidays don't count against the time he has until his deadline.

You need a list of holidays. Then just subtract however many holiday occur in the next 180 days from your answer.

You'll need the Analysis Toolpak addin installed then the world is your oyster!

Try
=workday(a1,180,hols)
where hols is a named range containing all the holidays for the year (or 2 or 3 or 4 years etc). This cuts out weekends too.

;-)
If a man says something and there are no women there to hear him, is he still wrong? [ponder]
How do I get the best answers?
