How do I use NoData()?

(1) I need to export a Crystal Report to a PDF but only create the file if there is any data in the report. I am using the RDC. The only way I see to do it is using the "NoData" event. How would I do that? i.e. how do I use these events?

(2) Is there a cleaner function that I can call? (I am writing this in C++ - if you show me how you would do this in VB I'll figure it out)

Can't you use something like recordcount > 0?

Or you might even do a select * from <datasource> to check for 0 prior to running the report.

The problem with this approach is that I am making different joins in reports I am iterating through. I need to check which of the reports that is being executed on a daily basis has produced no results. If this is the case this report should not be given to users.

Did you find a solution to your problem?

We are facing the same issue - trying to determine whether or not a report returns no data without the NoData event. Our program does not have a UI and thus, we cannot trap for that event.
