After installing RH 9 and updating the rpm's, I wanted to install netscape 7.1 for my browser instead of the standard mozilla one. I get through the installation process fine (zunzip, tar -, ./netscape-install). The process goes just fine and I launch netscape with everything working fine.. but here's the problem. Netscape does not add itself to gnome 'Main Menu' -> 'internet', so what I have to do is go to the directory where I installed netscape and run ./netscape from the shell prompt. so my questions are the following:
1. Is there a way to add netscape 7.1 to the 'Main Menu'?
2. In which directory/folder should I install netscape?
3. Am I doing anything right here?
Thank you for taking the time to read and answer(hopefully) this thread. I'm just another noob at linux sys, so please be specific.
Sincerely,
Andrew

In your Start menu lies an option (perhaps under System) to add a new "Launcher" in RedHat speak.

When you define a new launcher you are asked to name it, comment it (optionally), specify the executable program location (folder and filename) and you can select an icon.

This is very similar to Window's methods, once you know to create a "Launcher".

Thank you so much for the help. I followed your instructions and it was cake - don't know why I couldn't figure that out before. Thank you

Sincerely,
Andrew
