This might seem pretty basic, but how do I uninstall Windows 95? I have no problems installing it, but can't figure out how to uninstall it.

The only option i know is to format your hard drive.

pipk is right...there is no uninstall for Win95 like there is after you've done an upgrade to 98 or Me. All you can do is wipe your HDD and start again.

Why do you want to uninstall it? You can do a parallel install into a different directory, boot to the new install without losing your data and then delete the older windows directory.

Boot from floppy. Sys c:. deltree c:\windows.
It will be gone.
There are potential problems depending on what version since B&C have FAT32 capabilities.
You could do a better job of removing bunches of hidden, system files by using dos to run fdisk to delete then recreate the primary partition and then format the drive.
But the stuff mentioned above will do it.
Also be aware that your 95 will be gone and it will be bootable, but there won't be any transient utilities. Probably better to do an install of 6.22 or other OS. Ed Fair

Any advice I give is my best judgement based on my interpretation of the facts you supply.

Help increase my knowledge by providing some feedback, good or bad, on any advice I have given.

I appreciate eveyone who has responded. Formatting the hard drive did the trick. I just wanted to be sure. Thanks.
