This is a bit of a silly question but I have stumbled accross a 'feature' of 3DS Max (version 5) by accident and want to turn it off.

Basically my command panel has doubled it's size and there are now 2 panels instead of just the one. The second panel remains empty until you open options like Edit Geometry, Surface Dubdivision etc etc and then they expand into this new panel instead of downwards whereby you scroll down to see the option. In essence the command panel has doubled in size (while docked, if you float it it goes back to normal) and my working area for my viewports has decreased as a result.

Needless to say i've looked in all the various configuration and settings bits and bobs for a switch which might turn off this feature but to no avail. Have even tried reloading the Custom UI scheme (3dsmax-4.ui) to no avail.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Click and Grap the side and drag your mouse...it is a dynamic window just like any other window ie. explorer.
