How Do I Suppress On Demand Subreport Caption For Blank Subreports

Hi,

I have created a main report which is grouped by Person_Id. An On Demand subreport is also placed on the same group level which allows users to view any photos attached to the Person_Id if they wish. The subreport and main report are also linked via the Person_Id field and the On Demand Captions reads "View All Images".

What I would like to do is suppress the "View All Images" caption if the subreport does not contain any images for a person. I have tried "Suppress Blank Subreport" and it isn't working.

I am using Crystal Reports v10.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

This has always been a weakness of Crystal, it was resolved in XI.

YOu have to use a hidden SubReport which tests for data. Using a Shared Booleanvar ie No Data = false.

You can then use this to suppress the Ondemand subreport. Of course the hidden SR must execute before the Ondemand SR section is printed.
