I have read the posts on supression of groupheaders and counting details, etc. But none of them answer my question.

I have a report that has 4 groups. Group 2 is the group that I do not want to print at the bottom of a page if there is no information following. However if there is a Group 4 that will fit on the bottom of the page with Group 2 I do want it to print. Group 3 is supressed. I do not want to use "Keep group together" because it leaves a lot of empty space if the entire group does not fit.

I am using CR XI.

Thank you.

If you don't like the counting method, you might like bdreed's solution in thread149-905801.

I cannot count the records because it varies since there are multiple groups. And I cannot use thread149-905801 because it states to put a copy of the details in the group. but there are 2 groups between the group I do not want printed on the bottom of the page and the details section.

If the sections are the same size, you can use the counting method to count "lines" on the page, by adding the variable that is incrementing to each displayed section, group headers/footers, etc., as well as the detail section.

Regarding bdreed's method, that also can be adapted to add, for example, the group #4 fields to the Group #2 header.

The sections are not always the same size, but I did get it to work using the method mentioned in 149-905801 and making some revisions to accomodate extra groups.

Thanks for you help.
