I recently installed a new printer. The printer was detected and the install process went as usual. But now, every time the PC is booted, the printer is detected and the Add New Hardware wizard is started. What can I do to correct this?

You can remove the .inf files from your inf directory under windows. Check the directory for any file that you might think belongs with the printer (file name might reseamble company's name, may have word printer in it, etc.) Find them and move those files to an alternate location (so you don't delete the files, they are just out of the range of Windows). When Windows boots, if there is no matching .inf file for that hardware, Windows will not try to load any drivers for the device.
