Hi,

My company has used a variety of logon scripts in the past depending on the user. This has got so messy we now want to have all users run the same script. Is there any way we can set everyone to use the same logon script without having to use User Manager to manually change each account?

Thanks
Dominique

You know that you can change EVERY account in user manager all at once no matter what is in the logon script text box. All you need to do is click th first member, scroll down hold the shift key and click the last member, and the list will be highlighted, much like Windows Explorer and files. Once you do this all you need to do is set the user properties from the drop down menu, and go to profile. Type in the path to the logon script and viola, it is there for ALL users and you only had to type it once. You can do the same thing for home directories, EVEN if the directory is the users account name. All you need to do for that to map a drive is use the %username% variable. If you have any questions on how this works, just let me know. So now go set-up that logon script, change your users profiles, and hit the ground running :)

Good Luck,

Thanks SteelDragon,

Fiddling with this I've also noticed I can get it to automatically select everyone in a group for me at the same time!!

I'm embarrassed I didn't find that myself, I'll look harder next time.

Thanks again for your help!!

But you still have to type in the name of the logon script when you add a new user. There's no way to say 'always run this when someone logs on to my domain?'

Figler, I don't know if there is a way to assign a default logon script, but when adding a new user you can always copy from an existing user using F8, and the properties will copy
