How do I save my quarkxpress document as a PDF

I am using quarkxpress 4.01 to create a small booklet, so I am using images and text. Problem is I dont know how to save the document as a PDF file so I can put it on the web. I have adobe acrobat and distiller, and I am on a mac.

Print the document in the normal manner, use a colour printer PPD.

In Printer, chose to print in foreground and print to file not printer. Save the .PS file somewhere obvious.

Then take the PS file in Acrobat Distiller and you can save it as a PDF.

Well if you want to save your Quark documents as PDF you need to have PDF filter 1.6 XTension which lets you Import/Export Quark documents as in .pdf format. To use this XTension you need to update your QuarkXPress to atleast 4.04 because this XTension is not compatible with versions lower than 4.04. The updaters can be downloaded free of charge from the Quark website.

Hi Norma,

If you don't want to install the XTension for oyur QuarkXPress then you can always create a PS file that can be converted into the PDF easily by Acrobat Distiller.

Follow the Steps below to make a PS file of your Quark Document.

Open the Document and give the print command. After that click the <Printer> button on the bottom of your print windows.
In the corresponding window change the destination of your document from Printer to File by clicking the <Destination> button on the right upper corner. Now you may give the print command.

After saving the PS file, drop the same into your Distiller. This will change your PS file into PDF.
