Use a program called dspromo. It allows you to uninstall AD from a current server. It also allows you to re-add or add to previously uninstalled AD server.
I have a windows2000 domain controller that was upgraded from my old nt4 domain controller. I now have this win2k domain controller and an NT4 bdc as well as two win2k member servers. Can I demote the win2k domain controller and go back to my nt4 and promote him to pdc? Ive got a connectivity problem with one of my member servers and the microsoft knowledge base says to uninstall active directory to fix it. butis that safe or even possible to do?
