My servers c:\ drives are filling up. Are there specific tmp or log files that can be safely purged that may be taking up a lot of space?

Typically any file that has a ".TMP" extension can be deleted. You can also move your page file to another disk and convert to NTFS if you havn't already done that. Any folder that hs a $ in front of the name and at the end of the name can be deleted and you can move the I386 directory off the c: partition as well. Check the size of the event logs as well.

Thanks, Tubbaguts! Everything is already NTFS. I think I will follow your suggestion about moving the Pagefile.sys. I wasn't sure about the files that could be safely deleted. Thanks for the recommendation.

Everything in c:\temp with a date before your most recent logon can be deleted (you could test this by moving them to another partition first if you're unsure).
Also check the size of the profiles. Many applications (IE, Netscape 6, Office etc) will dump lots of stuff in profiles which would be better off elsewhere. You can configure this in the applications' preferences/options.
If you're still short of space you could consider using Partition Magic (Server Magic for servers) to increase the partition size.

also check to see if you have ant .DMP files these can take up quite a bit of space.

There are a number of options you can take to free more c:\ space, as johncurtis mentioned, personally pagefiles deletion deletion is not the answer, moving it is an option, I have had problems with Administrators profile, check its properties for space used, you might just find large files here, inc email if local. If C:\ is partioned check programs installed you can alway install them to D:\. Alternatively use 'Nortons Partition Magic' to create addition space by taking space from one partion to another, save may gonads a few times ....... doh!!!
