Hi,

This is my first post here so a big hello to everyone..

Here go's...

I want to create a small random generator of words or phrases

I want 5 or 6 very small databases each with different topics and entries inside

i.e.

database 1 song title

database 2 song artist

database 3 musical style

etc….

within each database there are entries that correspond to the database type

i.e

database 3 – musical style

Blues
rock
country
classical
dance

Now I want to be able to click a button or something so that it chooses a random entry from the database and displays it in a separate field (this for each of the database types)

So for instance I click a button and at random it chooses ‘country’ and displays it in a box that corresponds to that specific database.

can anyone suggest the best way to go around this
I am using Office XP Pro

i hope this is clear enough

Many thanks

Jarv

=VLOOKUP(RANDBETWEEN(1,3),$I$1:$J$3,2)

make a vlookup table as follows in cols I and J, rows 1 through 3......

I J

1 Rock
2 Jazz
3 Classical

shift+F9 to refresh the random number
