I've been asked to setup our fax to not have to dial 9 before the number when you send a fax. I think our installer set this up for a few minutes then somehow it went away. I'm still not positive it ever happened. ;) Anyway, can somebody help me setup the shortcode on that extention to make it work.

Thanks.

Usershortcode:
SC = ?
TN = .
LineID = linegroup
Action = dial

Thanks for the quick reply.

I just did that and it only sees/dials the first 2 digits.

Go off hook on the fax and check call status is showing the fax details and not no user.
Perhaps some one have tried to dial a speed dial on the fax Eg *36 and has logged the phone off. This is barred automatically on a NO USER basis.

Give it a go just to eliminate this.

Thanks again,

I'm doing the setup on a test line and it's reporting its name in call status. It's not logged out.

then open monitor and try dailing again
in monitor you can see what happens after every digit
copy that and post it here
then we can take a look at it

Try:
Usershortcode:
SC = ?D
TN = N
LineID = linegroup (or ARS Group if 4.0)
Action = dial

------------------------------------------
Wash, rinse, repeat.

Try:
Usershortcode:
SC = ?D
TN = 9
LineID = linegroup (or ARS Group if 4.0)
Action = dial

This should auto dial the 9 for you.

If that doesn't work try:
Usershortcode:
SC = ?
TN = 9N
LineID = linegroup (or ARS Group if 4.0)
Action = dial

?,.,0,dial doesn't work. I've also tried the rest and have gotten mixed errors but nothing worked. I've even recreated all 4 short codes that include 9 and can't get it working that way either while dialing 9.
here is the log from ?,.,0,dial

when I put in the 4 entries with 9 in them I get this in the log
3362116mS CALL:2007/08/0316:04,00:00:00,000,291,O,94233576,94233576,ConfPolycom,,,1,,""

with out it I get

why is it not removing the 9 in the user short codes?

you are not using a faxmachine for this ?
Because i see ConfPolycom as the dailing source
then you have to change dail3K1to just Dail

what is your system shortcode for an outside line ?
What happens when you don't use a usershortcode

I think you must add a ; at the end of the shortcode

SC = N;
TN = N
Action = Dial
LineID = your ecxternal linegroup ID

I tried to get this to work without any luck.

Here are my settings:

Code N;
Feature Dial
Telelphone Number 9N
Line Group Id 1

No luck

Do you have a prefix or Short Codes set in your Line???

I did this for my customer a while back and it has always worked.

1N
1N
Dial
0

2N
2N
Dial
0

3N
3N
Dial
0

all the way through 9

I haven't had a chance to try this any more today. It says polycom because that was an pots line that I could play with and not disrupt fax service. They are setup the same way.

thrtnastrx, I was thinking about that idea. It's going to be my next try.
