I am very new at this, and I want to cut a few clips from cutscenes that I download, starting by cutting the Vegnagun scenes from 10-2's 1000 words FMV. I want to set clips of weapons and Fight scenes between the Guado, the Al-bhed and the other races to the song "savages" from Pocahontas. How would I remove the desired clips without deleting them?

Assuming that your clips are in a format which Premiere can handle, then proceed as follows:

(This is a very simplistic description designed to give you the basic idea. It will work, but you will find better ways to manage your workflow once you have grasped the basics.)

Import the clips into the project.

Double click the clip in the project window to open it in a clip window.

Set in/out points in the clip window to isolate the first section of interest.

Drag from the clip window onto the timeline.

Back in the clip window, set different in/out points and drag onto the timeline until you have extracted all the bits you want from that clip.

Repeat for other source clips.

Arrange the timeline clips as required by dragging them into order on the timeline.

(As I said at the beginning, this is not the best way to work, but it is the simplest explanation I can offer to get you started.)
