I have a database that I am trying to crack into. Someone created it here at work and then left. Now no one can get into it. If I hold shift when I open it, I see the tables, forms, etc.. behind the scenes but I still can't get past the fact that first a message pops up saying I am opening it read-only. I tried using the Open Exclusive option in the Open dialog box but still this message came up. I checked the Autoexec macro for code that says it is opening Read-Only and I see that it is opening the splash form read-only but when I try to change it - I can't because the save button is grayed out. Can someone give me some insight?

Go to Windows Explorer. Find the file, right click and select Properties. Uncheck the box that says "Read-only" then click Apply.
