I have a simple question for you. How do I make a table like an MS word table? I want a table not a graph.

I am using CR10. My buddy says you must build the table manually by stitching together line segments. I say there MUST be a better way.

It depends on what you are trying to show. A CrossTab can give you grid lines.

Otherwise, inserting a few lines/boxes is actually simpler and faster that what you first expect.

This grid has hundreds of squares. The formating and fill color varies depending upon the row. And it is not a crosstab...the data does not fit that paradigm.

It is crazy that I cannot do something with CR that I CAN do with a simple .html page.

Besides Ido Millets recommendation, which I have done, the other option is to format each field. When you insert a field into the report, right click and go to format object. Then set each side and top and bottom to have a line. This is probably the best way because you can highlight the whole row and format all of the objects at one time. You can also do your color formatting at the same time.
