How do I know what my SPRE code is?

I'm just starting to grasp thie whole SPRE code thing. From what I've read so far on this forum, there is a default SPRE code which tells the PBX to expect an FFC. How do I figure out what the SPRE code is though?

Thanks!

Go to LD 57 and print out all FFC configured which sounds as if you have defaults set up:-

LD 57
REQ PRT
TYPE FFC
CUST X
CODE ALL

Cheers!!

It looks like it's a 6.

So should I be able to dial just a 6 then an FFC code?

Does anyone know what the code for hanging up on a second caller on a multi-party call is? I dial party 1 and he answers. I dial party 2 and his answering machine answers so I want to hang up on him. What do I do now?

Thanks again for this help!

On an analog Conference call, the 1st party is placed on hold until you make the second call, and will not be connected until you flash the switchhook, so you should be able to hang up on the ansering machine and pick back up the 1st caller automatically. you shouldn't need a spree or FFC code. Hope this helps.

but in this case the Polycom phone only has a Flash button and the button to turn the phone on or off. When I try the on/off button real quick, it hangs up on all the callers.

Argh!

you might try testing spree + 87, which is disconnect trunk for conference 6 on an analog phone. In your case it would be 687. let me know if that worked.

This is what hasn't worked so far:

Dial the first party, wait until it answers, then push Flash

Dial the second party (our faz number), wait until it answers, then push:

687 - no effect
*687 - no effect
#687 - no effect

The multi-party part of it works great. I'm able to have up to 6 (including the call originator) partys on the line. I'm just trying to figure out how to drop a party if it ends up being an aswering machine or whatever without having to end the whole call and start over.

Is there something else I should check?

Here is the output of LD21 with an arrow pointing to SPRE:

To disconnect from Meridian Mail, press octothorpe (#) to stop the recorded
greeting, octothorpe (#) to stop recording your message, and 83 to disconnect.
To disconnect from any other message system connected to the system, press
3 to stop the recorded message and the asterisk (*) to disconnect.

This only applies to internal calls.
the SPRE 87 should disconnect trunk calls.

I tried dialing our fax number as the second call. If I do spre +87 it doesn't do anything - just keeps on squeeking at me.

sarge,
establish your first call than conference than call the fax number externally than press spre 87 and see if that works. i'll keep reading. unless of course your fax is an external number and you already did this.

I tried that. I tried it using spre + 87, *spre + 87 and #spre + 87

none of them had any effect

Okay,
it doesn't work for me either but I do not have ffc codes in ld 57. Maybe this is why it doesn't work. Look in ld 57 and prt ffc. I do not have any and do not have permission to try and create. It should be very easy for you to do using the book. Try creating code number 87 for C6DS. I hope this is it.

You can have spre codes without FFC, but to have FFC you must have spre configured. With it being an outside call the spre+87 should work. It is for Conderence 6, do you have c6a in the cls of service for the phone? That might make a difference.

I didn't have a code set for C6DS. I set it to 87. When I tried the test with the fax machine as the second call again and dialed 687 when the fax machine picked up, nothing happened. I verified that under LD57 C6DS is now programmed as 87.

Do I nned to make it #87 or *87?

...and yes I have c6a in the cls.

Getting the 6 party call on an analog phone to work is what started me down this path. That part works great - it sounds hilarious when you call the voicemail system 5 times and they're all asking you to input something at the same time.

I don't want to announce the feature to the users until I figure out how to deal with being able to hang up on a misdialed number, answering machine or fax machine.
