how do i know if i have asp.net 1.1 installed, help!

I am trying to install sql server reporting and sql svr 2000 needs asp 1.1 installed, i have installed visual net 2003, with the prerequistes and i am still getting an error, how can i see if i have and if i do, how do i register with the webserver (IIS) on my pc?

One way ... You can open the control panel and open up add/remove programs.. This will show you if it is installed.

well thats the thing, i can see framework 1.1 is installed but nothing explicitly says asp?

argh

Nothing will say ASP, it is part of the framework.
Are you getting errors when trying to open/create a new project.

Why would it? The .NET framework isn't specifically for ASP.NET applications.

0key dokes then, i tried to register it

D:\WINNT\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\aspnet_regiis.exe -i

but that didn't help matter.. advice anyone

nope i dont get any errors, go into visual.net

new project, start asp thingie adn walla it opens a new solution, i am thinking its the registration but this

didn't work it seems.

ok well i am assuming the sql reporting would pick it up if it was registered, so i am thinking maybe thats where the the problem lies, i am full of assumptions here..

oh duh, sorry sorted the problem, in my IIS i need to set the asp.net to 1.1. i had two versions installed, sorry!

Run "aspnet_regiis -i" from the relevant framework folder

I did that, and then a cmd window pops up and says installing 1.1 or whatever and it stays for about 5 seconds and goes away?

If you run that from the command line, you'll be able to see the resulting text to say whether it was installed or not.

did that

in cmd prompt it says its finished installing... but when i try to install sql reporting services it still says that asp 1.1 is either not installed or not registered with the webserver, maybe its a bug? i have another version of asp installed as well 2.0, but in my default website under properties i set it to 1.1, so i am really at a loss here

Not sure, maybe you could try the SQL Server forum to see if they have any issues with it as it seems it isn't an ASP.NET problem.

i found the problem, i had to set my rootver in the registry to the right version
