1) For a school I'm installing an old 486 with windows 3.11. The VGA board the PC is using is not that old and there is no driver for Win 3.11. IS there a way to make it work (generic driver in setup doesn't work).

2) Can you make a Geforce work under Win 3.11 (800 x 600 colours)

When you say "generic driver", do you mean Microsoft's SVGA driver? I'd be quite surprised if that didn't work.

If it doesn't, then you'll have to get another VGA card.

Support for Windows 3.x was globally dropped quite some time ago, so I would not expect recent hardware to have 3.x or DOS drivers written for it.

It could be considered that putting a GeForce into a 486 is a waste of a good graphics card... try eBay - you should be able to get an old Diamond or ATI card for a very small amount - and put that GeForce into a PIII/IV or Athlon machine, where it belongs ;-)

Hope this is helpful CitrixEngineer@yahoo.co.uk
