how do i get rid of page numbers???

Ok. Here's the problem. I am publishing a journal and I need to get rid of the page numbers on the cover and the first few pages. If anyone knows how to do this, PLEASE let me know!!! Thanks.

If you wan't to suppress the page numbering on a couple of pages this is the way to do it.

Go to the specific page then go tot the view menu.
In this menu the first item is: "Display Master Items", uncheck it an dyour page numbering will disappear, but also all other items that are on the master page.

If you want to have some elements still display on some pages and others not; you can also make a new master Page without displaying the elements that you don't want.

Under the window menu you can find the option "Show Master pages. A floating box will appear. Copy your document master under another name, go to the master pages and apply the copy of the new master page. delete all items that you don't want to have on your nerw document master.

If you wan't to change the appearance of a specific page, let's say without the page numebering. Go to that page and apply the new master to that page.

If you have a document setup with facing pages, the two pages will take the new master page style.

if you want to have a different master page for your left and right page, uncheck in your document setup the facing pages. Then you can apply different master pages for your left and right page.
After applying the different master pages to your left and right page, go again to the document setup and recheck the facing pages button. Now your left and right page have a different layout.

OR you can use white boxes to cover them up! EASY!

Yes: white boxes, but this doesn´t work with PCL printers.
Only Postscript printers will show it correctly. ---G.Hoffmann
