I am having trouble on trying to use my printer on my desktop as a network printer. My whole goal is to have my laptop use the same printer. I can access my files on my desktop thru my laptop, but when it comes to sharing the printer it doesnt even show up as a shared file in my laptop. the desktop is using windows 2000 professional and the laptopis using windows me. if anyone can help me I would appreciate greatly! i tried using the add printer on my laptop by selecting network printer, but when I pull up my home network its not even recognized as a shared printer.

Is the printer shared on the 2000 PC? If so, what do you see when you run \\servername on your ME PC?

You have to go to your network places , do a search buy the computers name and then log on to the computer and connect to the printer after you do that . a pop up will come up saying that before you could connect to this printer would you like to have windows install the drivers needed first just hit yes ..............
done deal
But make sure the printer is shared.......... Anthony Cabanas
